“In the coming months we will see our boys ‘step out of the shadows’ - as it were - and take their rightful places dancing across the silver screen in major blockbuster films, capturing the hearts of those who lead sheltered enough lives to not already be aware of their existence. Together they will both take two (although not entirely ‘unexpected’) journeys, both intertwined and leading them on a meteoric rise to fame, to which they will surely become much-loved household names around the globe. It does give me a sense of pride to have watched them step out of the BBC and through the gates of Hollywood, to witness them become everything I knew they’d be. And it gives me an overabundance of joy to know that they’ll both happily return to take on the roles that they’re best loved for; Sherlock Holmes and Dr. John Watson. But in the mean time, I’d just like say “Good luck to you both, and we’re all very, very proud.”
